    Hi there,

    I’m Miss Jess.

I was born and raised in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. I moved to the United States in 2008. I have worked with children most of my life and have earned my CDA credentials in 2021.

I have been here at Alpha-Bet Cooperative Preschool since 2019. I started as a 3’s class teacher, then created our combined ages class with 3 and 4 year-olds and served as the Program Director from 2022 – 2025.

My family and I live in Triangle, VA with our 3 dogs and we enjoy growing our own fruit and vegetables in our garden.

I am looking forward to meeting you all!

    Hi there,

    I’m Miss Porsha.

I am a mother of 2 girls and we live in Woodbridge, Virginia with 2 dogs.

I previously worked as an in-home daycare provider. Now that both of my kids are school-aged, it is time for my next adventure in early childhood education!

I am excited to be in my 3rd year teaching the 2 year-old class at Alpha-Bet Cooperative Preschool after interning under Miss Jess where I strengthened my classroom management skills and a love for working with young learners.

    Hi there,

    I’m Miss Sheila.

I joined the Alpha-Bet family as the teacher for the new 3 day class for 3 and 4 year-olds. I have years of experience teaching in a variety of early childhood programs – including Pre-K at a local private school, preschoolers at a nature-focused school and working as part of a cooperative preschool when my own kids were young.

I live in Bristow with my husband, our three children, and our sweet rescue dog. I enjoy helping with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop, reading, doing creative art projects, and spending time outdoors. I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of the wonderful families at Alpha-Bet!

    Hi there,

    I’m Miss Kat.

I have over 20 years of experience working in early childhood, in a variety of settings and focus areas. I taught Preschool Special Education in Prince William County after earning my Masters of Education and teaching license before staying home to raise my son in 2017. I then founded a small business, working with young children and their families, coaching parents and educators with a focus on communication, social and behavioral skills. I joined Alpha-Bet in 2018 as a cooperative parent and board member. I returned in 2024 with my youngest son and then in the fall of 2025 the opportunity to become director of the program, working alongside the incredible staff at Alpha-Bet, fell into my lap. I am passionate about play-based learning, teaching the whole child, and the benefits of a cooperative learning community.

I live in Gainesville with my husband, 2 boys and our wild Frenchie. I enjoy music, reading, photography, traveling and anything to do with the outdoors.

Fun Fact – I also attended Alpha-Bet as a preschooler (i’ll let you guess what years!)
