History
The Alpha-Bet Preschool was first organized as the Manassas Cooperative Preschool in the spring of 1966. It was formed by members of other cooperative schools who had moved into the area and were concerned about the lack of public preschool programs in Prince William County.
In January 1968, the Manassas Cooperative Preschool became the Alpha-Bet School, Inc. Since the spring of 1970, the Alpha-Bet School has been housed in the lower level of Manassas Church of the Brethren, which we maintain an excellent relationship with.
In the spring of 1993, the school received its license from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Social Services.
Alpha-Bet School sets high standards of safety, cleanliness, and developmentally appropriate practices. Since the 2017-2018 school year, the school has operated as a hybrid-cooperative preschool to allow greater flexibility for parents who may work or have other commitments, while maintaining the option for parent involvement.
